Apostle Shields’ Blessed and Highly Favored Maca

  • 2 lb. macaroni
  • 1 TBS salt
  • 2 TBS purest virgin olive oil
  • 1 quart milk
  • 3 sticks butter, divided
  • 3 lb. sharp or extra sharp cheddar cheese, divided
  • 3 eggs, beaten
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Boil three quarts water in a large pot. Add macaroni, salt and oil to boiling water. Cook for 20 minutes or until done, stirring constantly. Strain macaroni and set aside.
To make the cheese sauce, pour milk into a saucepan. Add one stick of butter, 1 lb. cheese and eggs to milk. Heat on stove on low heat until cheese is melted. Remove from heat and set aside.
Pour half of the macaroni into a large baking pan and pour half of the cheese sauce over it. Cut 1 lb. of cheese and one stick of butter into strips and layer on top of the macaroni. Pour the other half of the cooked macaroni into the pan, followed by the remaining cheese sauce, layering it with one stick of butter and 1 lb. of cheese. Cook for one hour until slightly brown on top.
