Indian Flatbread

  • 2 cups flour (all purpose)
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 5 TBS shortening
  • 6 TBS milk
  • 4 TBS water
Mix together flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening. Mix in milk and water, until crumbly.
Turn out onto floured surface. Knead for one minute. Let rest for 10 minutes.
Roll out circles out 1/4 inch thick. Coat with oil, and sprinkle with salt. Cook in electric skillet at 350 degrees until brown.
