Photo Album
A crowd filled the Martinsville City Council chambers and flowed over into the hallway of the municipal building Thursday for the city school board’s public hearing on its budget for fiscal 2010-11. (Photos by Kim Barto) In observance of School Board Appreciation Month and to help in the budget decision-making process, the Martinsville School Board toured programs at Clearview Early Childhood Center, Albert Harris Elementary and Martinsville Middle School on Thursday. Above, Albert Harris Principal Natasha Rowell (far right) shows board members a writing lesson in Elizabeth Jent’s second-grade class. Shown are (standing, from left) board Chairman Jim Johnson, member Robert Williams, Assistant Principal Tamra Vaughan, board members Carolyn McCraw and Nancy Baker, and Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Stelia Wilbourn.
