NCI unveils building plans

This is a rendering of the building that the New College Institute wants to build on the Baldwin Block uptown. The 50,000-square-foot building would include learning space, a Grand Hall for community activities (on the right side) and two advanced manufacturing pods (on the left side).

The New College Institute’s proposed new building would be situated on the Baldwin Block adjacent to Fayette and West Market streets, with the main entrance facing a courtyard in the center of the block. At left, the part of the building at the corner of Fayette and West Market would house the learning areas and offices. Below that part and along West Market is the part of the building that would have manufacturing bays. To the right of the learning areas/offices is the Grand Hall.
