Bassett celebrates its heritage

Miss Virginia Rosemary Willis made an appearance at the Bassett Heritage Festival on Saturday. At left, Jessica Wickline (right) takes a photo of Jasmyn Hamlett with Miss Virginia during the festival. The Bassett Heritage Festival featured historical displays, a parade, vendors, entertainment and more. At right, Brian Ferguson holds his son Blake, 4, as Blake playfully pops his grandfather, Bruce Ferguson, on the head with his inflated hammer, all in the spirit of good fun. (Bulletin photos by Mike Wray) Members of the Bassett High School Class of 1962 are holding a reunion this weekend, so they took time to march in the heritage festival parade with their class banners.
