Patrick Henry Community College held a Big Birthday Bash Saturday with a big, 6-foot long cake to mark its 50th anniversary. What’s a birthday party without a clown and balloons? Kelly Profitt (right), who doubles as a math teacher at Patrick Henry Community College, fills the bill for the college’s 50th anniversary “Big Birthday Bash” on Saturday.

College officials estimated that between 1,000 and 1,200 people attended Saturday’s birthday bash, which culminated a year’s worth of activities celebrating the college’s 50th anniversary. Children’s games fill the front lawn of West Hall for the anniversary celebration on Saturday.
