Symphony brings spirit in annual music show

The Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, under the direction of Conductor David Wiley, performs Saturday in the Martinsville High School auditorium. This was the group’s seventh program at the school. The show was sponsored by Piedmont Arts as part of its On Stage! series. (Bulletin photos by Mike Wray) Elizabeth Crot, Miss Virginia 2011, sings at the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and Chorus Holiday Pops Spectacular on Saturday at Martinsville High School as Conductor David Wiley directs the group. Ellen Hanckel, a Grace Network volunteer, stacks food items into boxes at Martinsville High School. Many people attending the show brought food for the organization’s food bank.
The Virginia All Steel Orchestra, sponsored by the Boys and Girls Club, performs Saturday in the auditorium lobby at Martinsville High School before the start of the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and Chorus holiday show.
