In keeping with a patriotic theme for the Fourth of July week, fireworks were set off after the Martinsville Mustangs game Thursday night at Hooker Field. The display lasted 10 to 15 minutes and could be seen throughout the Chatham Heights area. The Mustangs beat Petersburg 1-0. (Bulletin photos by Mike Wray) Staff Sgt. Tim Sharp of Collinsville throws out the ceremonial first pitch of the Mustangs’ game against Petersburg. Sharpe is a member of the North Carolina National Guard who recently returned home after serving 10 months in Kuwait. Game coverage is featured under the Sports tab.
