As the fog rises from Philpott Lake Thursday morning, two anglers head out to begin a three-day competition as National Guard FLW College Fishing holds its Northern Conference Championship. A crowd gathers at the FLW expo at Walmart in Martinsville to watch the teams weigh their catches and see who leads the pack at day's end. The team from Fairmont State University, Wil Dieffenbauch (left) and Ryan Radliff, hold up their respective catches on Thursday at the FLW tournament weigh-in. The team was in the lead with 9 pounds, 10 ounces. Ramapo College team members Jeffrey Voss (left) and Joseph Zapf show their catches. The team was in second place at the conclusion of Thursday's round of the FLW tournament.
