The Martinsville High School marching band on Friday performed a tribute to former school band director Charles Butler, who died in April. During halftime of the Martinsville-Bassett football game, the Bulldog band made a formation honoring Butler. His family also was given a plaque. Butler, who had been director of the Martinsville High School marching band, was memorialized Friday night during half-time at the Martinsville High School football game. Butler, who died in April, also was music director at Albert Harris Middle School from 1982-1998.
