Hat’s off to the Gateway Streetscape Foundation and the volunteers for the job they are doing to clean up the Smith River. To say the Fall Smith River Cleanup was successful is to say the least. Gateway Executive Director Lois Christensen said the staff and 81 volunteers cleaned up 5.22 tons of trash and debris from the roads, banks, feeder streams and of course the river. The Winter Smith River Cleanup will be held Feb. 7, 2009.
