Stanleytown United Methodist Church, 24 Maplewood Ave., Stanleytown, will host their monthly NET (Neighbors Eating Together) lunch meal from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Menu includes chili beans, cornbread, desserts and beverages.

Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church will hold an Old Fashion Day Service at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday with lunch served at 1:30 p.m. Guest preacher will be Elder Antonio Hargrove, pastor of The Waterway Temple of Christ Church, Bassett, accompanied by his choir and congregation.

Mount Sinai Church, 7 Peters St., Martinsville, will hold a Founder’s Day, Family & Friends Celebration at 11 a.m. Sunday, with guest preacher Bishop Dennis Jefferson from Germantown, Md.. A “soul food” dinner will be served following service.

God's Love Outreach Ministry, 1223 Chatham Heights Road, Martinsville, will have a soul food buffet at 5 p.m. Saturday and go until the food runs out. The menu includes fried chicken, meatloaf, pigs feet, barbecue ribs, baked ham, fatback, collard greens, green beans, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, cabbage, pinto beans, biscuits, cornbread, cobblers, pound cake and drinks. The cost is $10 per plate ($6 for children ages 5-10).
