Zeb Talley to  speak

Martinsville City Public Schools Superintendent Zeb Talley, a minister, is speaking at Smith River Missionary Baptist Association on Saturday.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Apage Bible Christian Fellowship, 38 Corse Ave., will have VBS at 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Dinner will be served.

Mount Vernon Baptist Church will have Bible school “In the Wild” at 6-8:30 p.m. nightly June 9-14.

HOMECOMINGS/ANNIVERSARIES

Fort Trial Baptist Church, 170 Oak Level Road, Stanleytown, will hold Homecoming on Sunday, with special music at 10:30 a.m. and worship at 11. Terry Chitwood of Belle Aire Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, Tenn., is guest speaker. Lunch will follow on the grounds.

Mill Creek Baptist Church, 6200 Henry Road, Henry, will have its 135th celebration at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Pastor Marty Johnston speaking and a concert by The Churchmen at noon, with lunch to follow.

First Galilee Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its seventh anniversary on Sunday. John Adams will preach the 11 a.m., and the Rev. William Randolph, pastor of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, will preach the 3, accompanied by his choir and congregation.

Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 13602 Martinsville Highway, Cascade, will celebrate its 116th celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday, with guest preacher the Rev. Matthew L. Brown, accompanied by his congregation of St. Paul High Street Baptist Church, Martinsville.

Mount Olive United Praise Dancers will have their first anniversary at 6 p.m. Saturday at 246 Cabell St., Martinsville. Various dancers from Martinsville and surrounding areas will be in attendance.

Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 601 Third St., Martinsville, will celebrate the 15th pastoral anniversary of the Rev. Eric F. Hairston on Sunday. The Rev. Reginald Eldridge, associate minister of First Baptist Church East Martinsville, will preach the 11 a.m. service. Rev. Xavier Jackson and congregation of Chapman Grove Baptist Church of Charlottesville will be guests for the 3 p.m. service. Lunch will be served upon the arrival of the guests.

St. James Pentecostal Holiness Church, Fieldale, will hold Pastor Bobby Agnew's anniversary on Sunday, with the Rev. Harold Carelock from Pleasant Hill Baptist Church as guest speaker, accompanied by his choir, congregation and ushers. Sunday school will begin at 9:45 a.m., with worship at 11, and dinner will be served following service.

Mount Calvary Holy Church, Stuart, will celebrate Pastor G. Joseph Carter's anniversary on Sunday, Associate Minister the Rev. Curtis L. Pilson preaching the 11:30 a.m. service. Pastor Rufus Millner of Abundant Life Ministries will preach the 3 p.m. service. Lunch will be served following the morning service.

REVIVAL

The Assembly Chapel Church, Cascade, will begin summer revival each Tuesday night at 7 during the month of June. Guest speaker this Tuesday will be the Rev. Lamar Boykin, accompanied by the New Ephesus Baptist Church family.

Shiloh Way of the Cross Church of Christ of the Apostolic Doctrine, 938 Brookdale St., at 3 p.m. Sunday will have as guests Pastor Mark Price and the Greater New Bethel Apostolic Church choir and congregation.

Church Wihtout Walls will have a fellowship service  at 2 p.m. Sunday, with guest speaker the Rev. Rolando Twine and the choir and congregation of Holy Trinity Baptist Church of Rocky Mount.

YARD SALE

Landmark Baptist Church, 3870 Virginia Ave., Collinsville, will have a yard sale at 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. A variety of clothes, household items will be available, and there will be a bake sale, BBQ, both sandwiches and also by-the-pound, and hot dogs. All proceeds fund church projects.

 MEN’S DAY

Gethsemane Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2380 Blackberry Road, Bassett, will celebrate Men’s Day at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, with Bishop Eugene Ramos and The Church of our Lord Jesus Christ congregation as guests.

FISH FRY & FLEA MARKET

Mount Olivet Apostolic Church Brotherhood and Mass Choir will have a fish fry at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Missionary Department will have a craft/flea market beginning at 9 a.m.

SINGING

Way of the Truth Holiness Church, 3736 Preston Road, Martinsville, will hold singing at 6 p.m. Saturday. Guests will be Voices of Melody and Gods Chosen Choral from Martinsville.

RIBBON CUTTING

Fresh Start Ministry will have a grand opening for Graceville Youth Ministry, 323 Patrick Ave., Fieldale at noon-4 p.m. Saturday. The event will feature a clothes closet, food, classic car cruise-in, fish sandwich for purchase, with proceeds for future GYM activities.

COMMUNITY BREAKFAST

Smith River Missionary Baptist Association will hold a community breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Tickets are $20. Keynote speaker will be Zeb Talley Jr., superintendent of Martinsville City Schools.
