Smith River Singers will present “Love, In All Its Glory, a Choral Concert" at 7-9 p.m. Monday at Galilean House of Worship, 5078 A.L. Philpott Highway, Martinsville.


Chatham Heights Baptist Church celebrates its 75th Anniversary/Homecoming Sunday at 10:30 a.m.  Sunday, followed by a covered dish lunch in the fellowship hall. The service will include special music by the sanctuary choir and the praise band as well. Surviving charter members and new members (those who joined since our previous Homecoming) will also be recognized. The guest speaker will be John V. Upton Jr., executive director of the Baptist General Association of Virginia.

New Sharon Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Axton will celebrate its Homecoming and 143rd church anniversary Sunday, starting with a service at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served around 1:30 p.m. An afternoon service will begin at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Emmett Young and Loyal Baptist Church congregation from Danville as guests.


First Baptist Church East Martinsville will have spring revival at 7:30 nightly Monday through Wednesday, with guest preacher Rev. Walter Solomon of Bethel Baptist Church in Anniston, Ala.

High Ridge Baptist Church spring revival services at 7 nightly Monday through Friday. Speakers: Monday, the Rev. Greg Perkins of Christian View Baptist Church; Tuesday, the Rev. Carlton Redd of Rich Hill Baptist Church; Wednesday, the Rev. William Randolph of Mount Zion Baptist Church; Thursday, Brack Scales of New Hope Baptist Church; and Friday, the Rev. J. Roland Cohen of Judah House of Worship.

Temple Baptist Church spring revival services are at 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Guest speaker is Eddie Hawks.

Friendly Christian Church, 735 Friendly Church Road, Horsepasture, will have revival at 10:50 a.m. Sunday and at 6:30 nightly Sunday through Wednesday. The speaker will be Thomas Killian, minister at Museville Christian Church in Chatham. Music will be by Junior and Ramona Cassady and Doug Lawrence and Roger Wells. A nursery will be provided.

Mount Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church, 220 Vandola Church Road, Danville, will hold Spring Revival at 7 nightly Tuesday through Thursday. The Rev. Robert Millner, pastor of Mount Freeman Baptist Church, will be guest evangelist. Area choirs will sing.


High Ridge Baptist Church will celebrate Scholarship Day at noon Sunday. Guest speaker will be Sammy Redd of Martinsville, with special music provided by The Gospel Connection. A meal will follow the service.


Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church celebrates their Pastor Harold Carelock Jr.'s 18th anniversary at 10 a.m. Sunday, with guest preacher Elder Bobby J. Agnew, pastor of St. James Holiness Church in Fieldale, accompanied by his choir and congregation.

Antioch Christian Church’s Disciple Men and Disciple Women’s Anniversary will be observed at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Horsepasture Fire Department building, with Manuel Jessup as preacher.

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2700 Soapstone Road, Ridgeway, will celebrate Pastor William Churchill and Veraine Randolph’s fourth anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Ray T. Arrington of Roanoke as guest speaker. A service at 3 p.m. will feature the Rev. D. JeSie Morris and the congregation of Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church of Eden, N.C. Lunch will be served.

Greater Vision Assembly Holiness Church, 3201 Virginia Ave., Collinsville, will celebrate the 16th pastoral anniversary of Fibbie Hairston at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, with guest speaker Marshall Wells of Divine Faith Holiness Church.


Reach Out Apostolic Tabernacle, 225 Brend Drive, Axton, will give away clothing at 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.


Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 601 Third St., celebrates Women’s Day at 11 a.m. Sunday, with guest speaker Lardenia Campbell of St. Paul High Street Baptist Church, Martinsville. A service at 3 p.m. will feature Tamika W. Hairston, pastor of First Baptist Church East, Martinsville, as guest speaker.

Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church, 304 Fayette St., Martinsville, will celebrate Women’s Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. with the Rev. Amy Christine Hodge Ziglar of Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church in Roanoke as guest speaker, accompanied by her church family can choir.

Gospel Light United Holy Church, 85 Gospel Light Church Road, Axton, will hold Women’s Day Service at 11 a.m. Sunday, with Associate Minister Pansy McNair preaching, and at 3 p.m.. with Rochelle Irving, associate minister of Miracle Deliverance United Holy Church of Greensboro, N.C., as speaker. Attire is white.


Jerusalem Free Deliverance Church, 135 Blue Know Road, Leatherwood, will have as guests Jack Thompson and the congregation from Mount Olivet Apostolic Church, Martinsville, at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Church Without Walls Kingdom Minded Believers, 3770 Virginia Ave., Collinsville, will have as guests Bishop Lorenzo Hall and the Reach Out Apostolic Tabernacle Choir and congregation.

First Presbyterian Church in Collinsville will have Denny Casey as guest speaker for the 11 a.m. Sunday.


Smith River Missionary Baptist Association will convene its 169th Session of the District Union, Ladies Auxiliary and Life Member Day on Saturday at the association center. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and the program at 9. Rev. William Randolph of Mount Zion Church will serve as host.

The Mayo Fire-Baptized Holiness Association will convene with the Christian View Church, 261 Burbank Drive. Sessions are at 7:30 p.m. today and at 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday.


Smith Memorial United Methodist Church, John Redd Boulevard and Daniels Creek Road, Collinsville, will have barbecue chicken dinner at 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. The cost is $9 per meal ($8 each for four or more meals) that includes half a chicken, baked potato, slaw and roll. Request delivery or pick up at drive-through. Dinners must be picked up by 2 p.m.
