Spirit of Christ Worship Center, 4250 Chatham Road, Martinsville, will have as guests Jeff Hairston and Tabernacle of Praise of Rocky Mount for a service at 3 p.m. Sunday.


Tarpley Chapel Baptist Church, 16156 Mount Cross Road, Dry Fork, will celebrate its annual homecoming weekend with services Saturday and Sunday. A “kickoff” of praise and worship at 10 a.m. Saturday will feature a guest speaker and guest choir EnVue of Axton. A guest comedian from Kernersville, N.C., will also attend. There will be games, inflatables, lunch and ice cream. At 11 a.m. Sunday Pastor Robert L. Divens Jr. will be preaching, and the Fellowship Choir will sing. A special candle lighting ceremony will take place to commemorate those who have served at the church. The members and guests are asked to bring a framed photo of their love ones for the ceremony.
