Henry County District Court

A judge sent to Circuit Court a charge of destruction of property with intent to steal property and a charge of grand larceny against Brandi Danielle Harding of Spencer. The offenses allegedly happened on Dec. 15.

A judge sent to Circuit Court a charge of felony possession/transport of a weapon against Rodraya Marquis Finney of Chatham. The offense allegedly happened on Dec. 14.

A judge sent to Circuit Court a charge of eluding police against Jordan Kieth Burns of Collinsville. The offense allegedly happened on Oct. 4.

Robert Bentley Newberry of Bassett was found guilty of DUI (2nd offense). He was sentenced to 60 days in jail with 20 days suspended. His license was suspended for 3 years. He was ordered to pay a fine of $500, plus costs, etc. (Etc is VASAP) The offense happened on July 20.

A judge sent to Circuit Court a charge of being an accessory to shoplifting more than $500 against Kurt Davis Jr. of Ridgeway. The offense allegedly happened on Nov. 26.

A judge sent to Circuit Court a charge of manufacturing a controlled substance against Bradley Wayne Pegram of Collinsville. The offense allegedly happened Feb. 11.

Martinsville District Court

A judge sent to Circuit Court a charge of Welfare Fraud against Tovonia Strickland Brown of Martinsville. The offense allegedly happened on Feb. 18.

A judge sent to Circuit Court a charge of shoplifting more than $500 against Candi Hemmings Todd of Martinsville. The offense allegedly happened on Feb. 12.

A judge sent to Circuit Court two charges of forgery and a charge of attempting larceny against Amber Dawn Moncada Mejia of Spencer. The offenses allegedly happened on March 25.

Steven Lamont Watkins of Martinsville was charged with pickpocketing more than $5. He was found guilty of petty larceny. He was sentenced to 1 year in jail, with 11 months suspended, and ordered to pay costs. The offense allegedly happened on Sept. 17.

David William Foster of Axton was charged with shoplifting more than $500 (3rd offense). He was found guilty shoplifting more than $500 (2nd offense). He was sentenced to 60 days in jail with 20 days suspended and ordered to pay costs. The offense happened on April 12.

A judge sent to Circuit Court a charge of shoplifting more than $500 (3rd offense) against Vincent Maurice Penn of Martinsville. The offense allegedly happened on Sept. 22.

A judge sent to Circuit Court a charge of eluding police against Eric Lamont Trent Jr. of Martinsville. The offense allegedly happened on Feb. 4.

A judge sent to Circuit Court 4 counts of forgery, 4 counts of public record forgery and a charge of perjury against Adam Leon Mullins of Rocky Mount. The offenses allegedly happened on March 5.

A judge sent to Circuit Court a charge of felony possession of ammunition against Abdul Kahim Jamison of Martinsville. The offense allegedly happened on May 5, 2017.

Henry County Circuit Court

Jessica Diane Peterson of Collinsville was charged with committing arson to an occupied dwelling. She was found guilty of committing arson to an unoccupied dwelling. She was sentenced to 10 years in prison with 9 years and 79 days suspended and 2 years of supervised probation. She is ordered to pay $65,808.19 in restitution. The offense happened on March 29, 2018.

Martinsville Circuit Court

De’Ongela Johnea Chaney of Martinsville was charged with malicious wounding. She was found guilty of assault and battery. She was sentenced to 1 year in jail, with 1 year suspended and 1 year of unsupervised probation, and ordered to pay a fine of $250 plus $145 in restitution. The offense happened on July 19.

Fritz Robert Weiss of Martinsville was found not guilty of malicious wounding.
