Claims in all civil suits are reported, except in custody cases. All claims as filed with the courts represent only one side of the case. The newspaper does not omit any names that qualify to be included. The information is compiled from court documents by the Bulletin.

Martinsville District Court

Zachery Tyler Conner of Collinsville was charged with robbery of residence, use of firearm in felony, and conspiracy to rob residence with a gun. The offense allegedly happened, July 5 resulting in arrest July 7. The next hearing is in September.

Rachel Leanor Handy of Martinsville was charged with robbery of residence (second degree) and conspiracy to rob residence with a gun. The offense allegedly happened July 5, resulting in arrest July 17. The next hearing is in September.

Michael Jamel Holland of Bassett was charged with conspiracy to assault-victim injured and assault-victim injured. The offense allegedly happened May 29, resulting in arrest July 5. The next hearing is in August.

Jonathan Lebron of Martinsville was charged with robbery of residence with a gun and conspiracy to rob residence with a gun. The offense allegedly happened July 5, resulting in arrest July 7. The next hearing is in September.

Jay’Kwon Dajour Martin of Martinsville was charged with prisoner possession of controlled substance, possession of controlled substance and gun possession with schedule I/II drug. The offense allegedly happened March 31 resulting in arrest July 7. The next hearing is in September.

Anthony Samuel Santillo III of Collinsville was charged with grand larceny-more than $500 (not personal). The offense allegedly happened Feb. 13, resulting in arrest July 5. The next hearing is in August.

Kristel Lynn Bashaw of Martinsville was charged with grand larceny-auto theft. The offense allegedly happened April 15. The next hearing is in September.

A judge sent to circuit court a charge of gun possession by a nonviolent felon against David Allen Brown of Martinsville. The offense allegedly happened June 5.

A judge sent to circuit court a charge of DWI second offense against Richard Jason Coger of Stuart. The offense allegedly happened March 9. The defendant pleaded guilty on July 8.

A judge dismissed but may later reopen charges of shooting in public-no injury and reckless handling of a firearm against Carl Lee Phillips of Ridgeway. Judge also dismissed charges of malicious shooting/throwing inside an occupied building and gun possession by a nonviolent felon. The offense allegedly happened Nov. 15, resulting in arrest Jan. 18.

Curtis Orlando Walker of Martinsville was charged with malicious wounding. His hearing on July 8 was rescheduled for later in July. The offense allegedly happened Feb. 23.

Joseph Michael Webb of Martinsville was charged with three counts of assault of a law enforcement/dept. of corrections person. Bond was denied. The offense allegedly happened June 27. The next hearing is in October.

Asia Olivia Baker of Martinsville was charged with assault of a law enforcement/dept. of corrections person. The offense allegedly happened May 28. The bond hearing is later in July.

Lamaine Nathaniel Hairston of Martinsville was found guilty of DWI first offense. He was sentenced to 1 year in jail, with 1 year suspended, his license is restricted for 1 year, ordered to complete VASAP and to pay a fine of $300 plus costs. The offense happened March 2.

A judge sent to circuit court a charge of pickpocketing against Fred Luther Wogan Jr. of Martinsville. The offense allegedly happened Aug. 23, 2018, resulting in arrest Sept. 4, 2018.

Bill Dean Byrd of Martinsville was charged with two counts of pickpocketing. The offense allegedly happened May 7. The next hearing in September.

Tiffany Danielle Anglin of Fieldale pleaded guilty to DWI first offense. She was sentenced to 1 year in jailm with 11 months and 25 days suspended, her license suspended for 1 year, ordered to complete VASAP and to pay a fine of $250 plus costs. The judge dismissed but later may reopen a charge of manufacturing a controlled substance. The offense happened Dec. 31.

A judge sent to circuit court 16 counts of felony petty larceny and 16 counts of forgery-employ as true against Christopher Andre Perkins of Martinsville. The offense allegedly happened on Jan. 1, resulting in arrest on April 16.

Carol Renee Brown of Bassett was charged with failure to stop at an accident causing damage of more than $1,000. The offense allegedly happened June 4, resulting in arrest July 6. The next hearing is later in July.

Cassandra Dawn Foster of Axton was charged with shoplifting less than $500 third offense. The offense allegedly happened May 27, resulting in arrest July 14. The next hearing is in September.

Shantez Teyon Hairston of Martinsville was charged with malicious shooting/throwing at car/train, gun possession by a nonviolent felon and weapon/ammo possession (not gun). The offense allegedly happened July 13, resulting in arrest July 15. The next hearing is in August.

A judge sent to circuit court two counts of assault-victim injured against Tanay Rashae Hollan of Martinsville. The offense allegedly happened May 29, resulting in arrest June 1.

Martinsville Circuit Court

Demonte Lawon Waller of Martinsville was charged with felony property damage, malicious throwing of a missile in an occupied dwelling and shooting in a public place-no injury. The offense allegedly happened on Feb. 18, 2018, resulting in arrest March 15, 2018. The next hearing is in September.

Sandy Pulfrey of Martinsville was charged with failure to return property-more than $200. The offense allegedly happened June 16, 2018, resulting in arrest Aug. 3, 2018. The term hearing is later in July.

Candi Lynn Hemmings-Todd of Martinsville pleaded guilty to two counts of shoplifting third offense. The offense allegedly happened April 9, 2018, resulting in arrest May 22. The term hearing is later in July.

Gemel Rasaan Hogue of Halifax was found guilty of shoplifting less than $500 third offense. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison, with 4 years suspended and 2 years of supervised probation and ordered to pay costs. The offense happened Dec. 20.

Patrick County District Court

Joseph Michael Johnson of Stuart was charged with eluding police. The offense allegedly happened March 9. The next hearing is later in July.

A judge sent to circuit court a charge of shoplifting less than $500 third offense against Lori Hollandsworth Blais of Bassett. The offense allegedly happened May 8.

Jorge Antonio-Abonce of Stuart was charged with paying/receiving admission to animal fight. The offense allegedly happened June 1, resulting in arrest June 2. The next hearing is in August.

Rafael Cortes Ruiz of Dobson, N.C., was charged with paying/receiving admission to an animal fight. The offense allegedly happened June 1, resulting in arrest June 2. The next hearing is in September.

Manuel Gonzalez-Lavalle of Durham, N.C., was charged with paying/receiving admission to an animal fight. The offense allegedly happened June 1. The preliminary hearing is in August.

Roberto Salinas of Moravian Falls, N.C., was charged with paying/receiving admission to animal fight. The offense allegedly happened June 1. The preliminary hearing is in August.

Dustin Lee Belcher of Meadows of Dan was charged with obtaining money under false pretenses-more than $500 and selling stolen property-more than $500. The offense allegedly happened May 15, resulting in arrest July 7. The preliminary hearing is in August.

Kimberly Sue Pack of Patrick Springs was charged with pickpocketing. The offense allegedly happened Oct. 13, 2014, resulting in arrest July 15. The preliminary hearing is in October.

Matthew Alan Thompson of Stuart was charged with unauthorized use of vehicle-larceny. The offense allegedly happened Nov. 25, 2018, resulting in arrest July 10. The next hearing is in October.

A judge sent to circuit court a charge of eluding police and endangerment against Joseph Michael Johnson of Stuart. The offense allegedly happened March 9.

A judge sent to circuit court a charge of manufacturing a controlled substance and gun possession with schedule I/II drug against Charles David Sawyers of Ararat. The offense allegedly happened April 18.
