New College Institute has had four college-level interns for robotics this summer who have helped to lead summer camps and mini-workshops primarily for middle and high school students from throughout Southern Virginia. The interns are Austin Hurd, of Patrick Henry Community College; Samantha Edwards, of Virginia Tech; Josh Prillaman, of Wake Forest; and Christian Keeler, of Radford University). Among many assignments, they helped to design, plan and implement workshops, work with technology and to develop 3D printing curriculum. Hurd, a recent graduate of Magna Vista High School, will continue to work with NCI as an intern for special presentations. He was a member of NCI’s nationally competitive robotics team, STAGS Team 1262.
