Albert Joe "A.J." Hankins, 79, of Axton, Va., passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020. He was born August 18, 1940 in Henry County, Va. to the late Mabel Eanes Hankins and Joe Albert Hankins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Hazel Walker. A.J. was a superintendent at W.M. Bassett Furniture for 35 years and was a plant manager at Compton Wood Products. He was a member of Beckham Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Wanda W. Hankins; sons, Joel Hankins, Barry Hankins (Trish), and Eddie Hankins (Michelle); siblings, Pete Hankins, Helen Wood, Kenneth Hankins (Rela), Hilda Anderson (A.T.), and Janice Price (Donnie). Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel. Ruby Harbour Martin, 87, of Ridgeway, Va., passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at her home. She was born June 16, 1932, in Patrick County, Va. to the late Ruth Penalton Harbour and George Matt Harbour. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucille Burkett and Estelle Burkett; brothers, George Harbour and Andrew Harbour; and infant brother, Edward Harbour. Mrs. Martin was a member of Ridgeway United Methodist Church and retired as a cafeteria manager for Henry County Public Schools. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Eldridge Terrell Martin of the home; son, Gary T. Martin (Ann) of Ridgeway, Va.; sisters, Evadale Doss and Pauline Merriman; brother, Clarence Harbour (Linda); granddaughter, Erin Faith Martin; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2020, at Ridgeway United Methodist Church with Pastors Clyde Deloach and Bud Sedwick officiating. Jalen Amir-Razique Millner, 20, of Ridgeway, passed away Friday, January 10, 2020, in Henry County. He was born February 25, 1999 in Martinsville, to James Wendell Millner Jr. and Salena Preston. Kenneth Leon Turner, 53, of Martinsville, died on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 2, 1966, in Martinsville, to Edith Juanita Hall Turner and the late Leonard Tonie Turner. He was also preceded in death by two infant children, Johnathon Reed Turner and Sara Kathrine Turner. He had worked 23 years for the City of Martinsville in different capacities. He loved nature, sitting on the porch listening to birds and chimes, growing flowers, old cars, raising fighting roosters and taking pictures of everything. In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Laura Ann Napier (Dennis); one niece, Megan Elizabeth Branch Pruitt (Taylor); one great niece, Tabitha Grace Pruitt; special friends, Sharon Mullen, Westley Mullen and Emily Mullen; best friend, Neal Davis, along with other family and friends. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 19, 2020, from 3 until 5 p.m. in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel and other times at the family home, 320 Janice Drive, Bassett. Mr. Joseph Leonard Webb Sr., 84, of Bassett, Virginia, entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 11, 2020. He was born on April 22, 1935, in Carol County, Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Webb. Mr. Webb is survived by his two sons, Joey Webb Jr. and Jerry Webb; grandchildren, Brylee Webb and Tyler Webb; great-grandchild, Carter Taylor; and a special friend and caregiver, Carol Webb. Mr. Webb served in the Army and was a hard, working man that enjoyed talking to people and always there to lend a helping hand. He had over 30 years of trucking experience with Roy Stone and also, 12 years as a business agent for Teamsters Local 22. The family will receive friends Friday, January 17, 2020, at Collins Funeral Home chapel from 12 until 1 p.m. Service will be held 1 p.m. immediately following with Elder Jamie Hancock officiating.
