For the past nineteen years, our mother lived independently in the Kings Grant Village. Only within the last six months did her health begin to decline and she moved her home into the assisted living area.
Last June 16, 2018 the family celebrated our mother's 99th birthday. She was truly surprised and reveled in all of the attention. There was a full house and she made sure everyone individually was greeted. She loved her family and in turn, they loved her and admired her strength and determination.
A private family graveside service conducted by the Reverend Paul J. Johnson was held at Oakwood Cemetery on Wednesday, June 12, 2019.
A family luncheon remembering and honoring our mother was held at the home of Litz and Jackie VanDyke following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Network or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Our many thanks to those at Kings Grant Hospice and the ones who sat with her for their loving attention and care.
Arrangements are by McKee-Stone Funeral Home-Martinsville, Va.
